12-24″ Menorah Guides
Setup and operating guides for our smaller display menorahs. The auto-lighting instructions below apply to the 12″, 12″ LUX, 18″, 24″ and 24″ LUX (V.2024) models, as well as the 3′ and 3′ LUX (V.2023).
Auto lighting: what it does
Auto lighting advances the menorah for you. Once activated, the controller lights one additional bulb every 24 hours from the moment you set it, so the display keeps pace with Hanukkah without anyone having to return to it each evening. The shamash — the center bulb — stays lit whenever any other bulb is on, and by the final night all nine bulbs are illuminated.
The cycle counts forward from the moment of activation, not from midnight. Set it at the time of day you want the menorah to step forward: activate at 5:30pm on the first night and it will advance at 5:30pm every night after.
How to turn auto lighting on
- Connect the power cord to a wall outlet.
- Press and hold for three seconds — the button on the 12″, 12″ LUX and 18″ models, or the touch pad on the 24″, 24″ LUX, 3′ and 3′ LUX models.
- All nine bulbs will flash three times.
- Release. Auto lighting is active, and the menorah will advance one bulb every 24 hours.
The same press-and-hold action toggles between automatic and manual mode, and the flash pattern tells you which mode you have switched into. If the menorah is not advancing as you expect, run the activation step again and watch the flashes to confirm which mode it is in.
Before the first night
It is worth plugging the menorah in and running through activation a day or two ahead, while there is still time to swap a bulb or move to a different outlet. Decide in advance what time of day you want the display to advance, since that is fixed at the moment you activate it.
