Who makes Menorah.net display menorahs?

Menorah.net is run by Rabbi Boruch Klar and the Lubavitch Center of Essex County in West Orange, New Jersey. Since the 1980s Rabbi Klar has built more than 30,000 public display menorahs for city halls, U.S. military bases, universities, theme parks, malls, hospitals and synagogues. Is the base included in the price of the menorah?

Yes. Choose indoor or outdoor when you order. Outdoor displays on grass or soil use the in-ground base.

Is it difficult to install the in-ground base?

No. It is straightforward with basic tools, and instructions are included. The base stays in the ground year-round, so the menorah lifts out after Hanukkah and drops back in next year.

Can I use the indoor base outside?

Not on its own, because it is vulnerable to wind. On pavement or other hard surfaces, use the indoor base with the outdoor base cover and add sandbags or cinder blocks for ballast.

Do I need any other accessories?

No. Each large menorah comes with 9 LED chimney bulbs, a carrying case and a base. Optional accessories include LED signs, candle conversion kits and tiki torch kits.

How much does each menorah weigh?

LED Collection display menorahs:

  • 3 ft menorah: 13 lbs, 3 ft wide
  • 6 ft menorah: 41 lbs, 6½ ft wide
  • 9 ft menorah: 52 lbs, 7½ ft wide
  • 12 ft menorah: 60 lbs, 8½ ft wide

LUX Collection menorahs are heavier (the 12 ft LUX ships at 80 lbs). Each product page lists its exact weight.

What are the dimensions of the indoor base?

The indoor base for large display menorahs is 35″ × 24″ × 2″, with suction cups that grip a hard floor.

Are the bulbs included in the price?

Yes. Large display menorahs include 9 LED chimney bulbs.

What warranty do your menorahs have?

Every menorah is covered by a 3-year warranty.

Do I need to use your bulbs?

No, any standard bulb fits. For outdoor use we recommend our 6″ LED chimney bulbs, which hold up in weather and stay bright at a distance.

What are the candle conversion kits?

They fit into each socket in place of a bulb and hold a real flame, so the Hanukkah blessing can be said over fire.

Can you use the candle conversion kit outdoors?

Yes, except in high winds.

Which size menorah is right for my venue?
  • 3 ft: store windows, countertops, reception desks
  • 6 ft: smaller lobbies, private homes, courtyards
  • 9 ft: malls, town halls, synagogues, JCCs
  • 12 ft: city squares, parks, government buildings and other large outdoor displays
  • Up to 15 ft: sculptural public art menorahs
Do I need a ladder to light the menorah?

No. A built-in controller adds one light every 24 hours, so you switch it on the first night and it runs unattended for all eight nights of Hanukkah.

Does the menorah rust or handle weather well?

The large indoor/outdoor display menorahs are aluminum with a silver finish, so they do not rust and withstand rain, snow and cold. The 3 ft indoor model is steel and meant for indoor use.

Can I get replacement parts if I lose any?

Yes. Replacement bulbs, bases and parts are available, and the wheeled storage case has a pocket for each arm to prevent loss.

Can I use the menorah outside the U.S.?

Yes. The menorahs run on 110v, so use a transformer where the supply is 220v.
